Blood Will Tell

"Antigonos," Cynthia said, "give me a drop of your blood." And as the man took a step backward, "Yes, it's for a spell, but none that will harm you. I've already tried it on myself and my maid and my brother-in-law.: Antigonos rolled his eyes heavenward and held out his hand, and Cynthia pierced his finger with a pin and shook one drop of blood into a vial. She added a measure of stuff from one of her pots and stoppered the vial securely. "Now we need darkness," she said. "Come with me and you'll see a sight."
